DRY WEATHER SLOWS DOWN PLANTING.

The planting of soy has been hampered in Argentina, by the hottest summer in 55 years and the ground is far to hard for good seed planting.

Plants already in the soil have been hampered by the dry weather, and this could affect the harvest of 2009.

There were good rains 15 days ago, which gave planting a good start. Argentina unlike the northern world, only plough for the first seeds in corn and after the harvest, drill the new seeds for the second crop of soy, directly into the stubble.
