ARGENTINA-FARM STRIKE.

There was no cattle market at Liniers on Monday and by lunch time all the beef plants were killed out of all the cattle they had on hand.

While there was enough cattle to service the local market there were no cattle being killed for export.

The government are meeting the farmers on Tuesday, while the farmers appear negative the government are in fact sending out very positive messages.

" I believe Argentina cannot tolerate another confrontation scenario we have to completely move away from that. We must advance on concrete possibilities of working on common denominators and I think this is going to happen as from Tuesday", were the words of Agustin Rossi who is head of the government caucus in the Lower House.

Meanwhile the president of the rural society Mario Llambas, said " If agreement is not reached, things could turn really ugly".

The strike is due to end on Tuesday, however much will depend on the outcome of the meeting. Steve Hunt, Chief Executive Officer of USPB said, "although this is not the outcome we anticipated, we are excited to continue the growth and success of our business on a stand-alone basis.
