ARGENTINA-Argentina’s ruling couple, the Kirchners, is pouring money for roads and schools into heavily-populated poor neighbourhoods around the capital in a bid to maintain control of Congress in mid-term elections this year. Former President Nestor Kirchner, the husband of President Cristina Fernandez, is spearheading the campaign and launched it this week with a rally in a working-class district where the government is building a wholesale market, sewers and schools.
