Argentina-Nuclear Power.
ARGENTINA.
NUCLEAR POWER.
Argentina and Brazil, were scheduled to address the creation of a bi-national nuclear energy agency, when the countries two presidents met in Brazil.
The agency could become one of the worlds leading providers of enriched uranium, which is one of the objectives of the Brazilian government. Nuclear power could be provided to Venezuela, Chile, Paraguay, Peru and Bolivia if the plans go through.
Argentina currently has two nuclear power plants in operation, with Australian technology based in the south of the country. Brazil has two plants in operation and is building a third, with plans for six by 2030.
Uruguay will consider resorting to nuclear power, to meet the growing demand for electricity and cut the dependency on fossil fuels, the government has announced last week.
