23,372 CATTLE UNLOADED FROM ONE VESSEL..

Wellard Rural Exports who operate out of Australia and now have facilities and vessels in Brazil, shattered the world record for the number of cattle to be shipped on one vessel.

The company loaded 23,372 cattle from Darwin and Townsville last week and they not only arrived in Indonesia in good condition, they gained weight on the voyage.

The MV Stella Deneb had carried 22,184 cattle in one load in October of 2007.

This is a new milestone for the live shipping industry, who have deserved all the recent credit they have received.

The fact that the cattle gained weight speaks for itself and the industry.

The trade between Australia and Indonesia has grown at a tremendous rate in the last two years.

Northern Australia has the perfect animals for the lean meat required, as does Brazil who are now making overtures for a share of the action.
