Australia-Best rain in 30 years breaks 4 year drought.

AUSTRALIA.

BEST RAIN IN 30 YEARS.

Farmers in Australia are over the moon, after four years of the most shocking droughts, a monsoon has swept over the north west of Queensland yestrday watering farms and cattle stations that have not seen the like for 30 years.

No one is complaining about the floods or the rivers rising 6 metres, towns being cut off or roads being washed away.

The attitude of the Australian farmer, known as the bush battler, is that the damage done will create employment for some people for the next couple of years, as long as we have water we are back in business.

Meanwhile the new ear tags for sheep and goats, are now required to be placed in all animals from birth after 1 January.

This measure is in place at the whim of the European Union, according to Bill O’Halloran, from the Department of Primary Industries, tagging is essential to stay internationally competitive.

Bill said " Industry has now decided that from the point of view of making sure every animal is identified, also that it can be easily identified back to the last property or even the property of birth, we need to have everything tagged. This was made even more important this year by some European Union audits that identified some animals at meat plants that they inspected across Australia, that didn’t have tags and they were not very happy about this".

This is a lesson for the British farmers who are currently winging, about tagging their own bloody sheep, Doctor, Doctor heal Thyself, one very large meat plant operator said.
