Australia-Meat plant $20 million expansion.

MEAT PLANT EXTENDED.

Tey Brothers, the largest beef packers in South Australia, are spending $20 million on their plant at Naracoorte.

The plant will increase production of slaughtering and boning, from 500 to 750 cattle per day.

The company also operate 3 large beef plants in Queensland, catering for the domestic and export markets.

The renovations will be completed by August 2009.


The company has also negotiated a four year collective workforce agreement, with the Australian Meat Industry Union that comes into force on Monday 11 August.

This is the first meat plant agreement, under the governments new industrial laws.
