Far the last three years Pfizer have marketing the only vaccine for Bovine Viral Diarrhoea Virus, which can cost Australian farmers up to $40 per cow.

The disease is a wasting disease like Johns disease and causes the cows to abort like Brucellosis .

Health manager for Pfizer, Stephen Fisher says that many farmers don’t realize they have the virus until the train crashes, causing many cows to go down at the same time, he claims that vaccination of herds is the only safe remedy, prevention rather than cure.
