Ban on rice export has farmers in stew

Amritsar, October 23 The smiles on farmers' faces following the hike in MSP of wheat and bonus on paddy are fading away.

Rice growers in Gurdaspur, Amritsar and Tarn Taran are livid after the procurement of their "high-quality rice", usually meant for foreign markets, was stalled by the traders in protest against the blanket ban on non-Basmati exportby the Centre.
