Brazil-Farm exports US$71.9 billion in 2008.

RECORD EXPORTS IN 2008.

The government of Brail announced that the value of Farm exports in 2008 was US$71.9 billion which is an increase of 23% on 2007.

The latest report from the Ministry of Agriculture also showed a trade surplus of US$60 billion which was 36.5% generated from the rural sectors.

The main factors in the increase was the lift in prices prior to the economic turn-down in September.

Beef rose 29%, soy rose 58% and coffee went up by 22% for the first 8 months of the year.
