Brazil-Farmers cut back on fertilizer.

BRAZIL.

LESS FERTILIZER.

Brazil is expecting the grain harvest to be down by 5 to 10% this year, compared to the record 143 million tons last year, according to the Brazilian Livestock and Agricultural Federation on Saturday, owing to the fact that less fertilizers have been used.

The price of fertilizers has tripled in the last two years, causing farmers to cut down where ever possible. Brazil is the worlds largest exporter of soy and third largest exporter of wheat. There is a large American involvement in the Brazilian grain industry.
