Brazil-JBS-SA good profits for third quarter.

The JBS SA, are delighted with the figures for the third quarter of 2008, showing a profit of US 324 million, in view of the economic downturn in the industry.
This compares with a loss of US$38 million, for the same time last year.
Currency gains helped the company through the quarter, the rise in the value of the US dollar assisted the value of the companies US assets.
The worlds largest beef processor, is pleased with the acquisition of Smithfield Beef units and the Five Rivers Ranching Feed lots, that were acquired for US$565.
The company also purchased Swift& Co, for US$225 million and Tasman Meats in Australia for US$160 million.
Revenues jumped for exports from the US, the doors being opened again to South Korea was a boost, that will be more apparent in the next quarter.
Meanwhile the purchase of National Beef Packers in the US, that has been blocked by the government, is being appealed through the courts.
