LIVESTOCK EXPORTS.
The beef and live cattle exported to Lebanon, in the month of December, was up in volume with 3,933 live cattle to the value of US$2.7 million and beef to the value of US$7.1 million.
This livestock market has been supplied by the Republic of Ireland in recent years, now it appears to increasing supplies from Brazil.
The cattle are shipped on Australian owned vessels, from the northern ports of Munguba and Belam.
The live exports to Venezuela were slightly down in December to 4678 head of cattle.
Brazil is able to export to Indonesia and the first shipments should be going later in the month.
