Brazil-Meat giant closes two plants.

MEAT GIANT CUTS PRODUCTION.

The Brazilian meat and dairy giant Perdigao has plans to close two plants from Monday 12 January at the cost of 250 jobs.

The company announced that the plants are being closed in a bid to ensure that there is sufficient production at the companies other 9 plants in Brazil.

The production of cheese and cheese sauce is being done at an alternative plant and the plant at Rio Casca is to be closed.

The other plant in Rio Grande will also be close and production transferred to an alternate plant.

The company does not anticipate any other reductions, now or in the future after this immediate consolidation of facilities.
