Brazul-Meat Giant consolidates after a good year.

PERDIGAO SALES UP 80%.

Perdigao food giant, closed the second quarter with sales of US$5.2 billion which is 81.2pc more than the same period in 2007.

Meat exports increased 45,4pc on volume and 64pc in value.

The increase in margarine and other processed dairy products went up by 185.4pc, due to the recent acquisition of Elweva-Cotoches and other local companies.

Gross profit increased from US$649 million for the same period in 2007 to US$985 million, an increase of 51.9 pc.


The company are closing 2 of their 12 plants in Brazil next week, to try to help combat the downturn in trade globally
