MEAT RE-CALL.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency, issued a warning on Friday, of yet another major meat re-call for suspected listeria. This is the fourth major re-call since early November, coming in the wake of the Maple Leaf Foods re-call in September that caused the death of 22 people..
The company involved are Mariposa Meats from Mississauga, who have re-called smoked pork and chicken products, as well as sliced ham and pastrami. The company is no longer distributing meat products, since the problems were discovered.
The company has been in business for the last 35 years, and enjoys an excellent reputation with customers as well as the authorities, according to a spokesman from the Food Inspection Agency, who added " the re-call was voluntary". Canada’s food watchdog is warning customers, to be wary of any products branded in the name of Mariposa Meats.
