CANADA-NEW PRESIDENT.

The Canadian Federation of Agriculture has elected a new president.

Laurent Pellerin, former First Vice-president, defeated second Vice-president Ron Bonnett in the election this week at the CFA’s annual general meeting in Ottawa.

Pellerin is a hog farmer from Quebec’s Trois Rivieres area and former vice-president of the Canadian Pork Council.

The post became open last fall when Bob Friesen quit after nine years to run as a Liberal in the federal election.
