Chile-Economy slows down.
ECONOMY GROWS 3.8%.
The economy of Chile has grown a modest 3.8% in 2008, according to figures released by the Central Bank of the nation.
The government claims, that they are on track for a final growth rate of 4% by the end of 2009
.
Copper is the main export of the nation, followed by lamb, pork, wool and fish exports.
Chile is an importer of beef, as the rugged country is only suitable for grazing sheep.
The President of Chile, was in Buenos Aires on recently, to sign the contracts for a new railway line, that will go from Buenos Aires to Santiago, by way of a tunnel through the Andies range of mountains.
This multi billion dollar project, will be a large boost to trade between the two countries.
