Chile-Farmers concerned over coal mining plans.

COAL MINING PROPOSED.

A coal mining venture is being proposed in the south of Chile, close to the border with Patagonia in the south of Argentina, local farmers and fishermen are concerned about the long term effects this may have on the region.

A company from Santiago, the capital of Chile, has been prospecting the region for some time and the reports are that the region has very viable and profitable coal seams. The governments of Argentina and Chile, are now looking into the viability of the situation with an environmental impact study.
