RE-OPENING OF THE US HORMONE DEBATE.

The European Union has started new trade negotiations with the United States, in the hope of settling the 10 year old dispute on hormones in American and Canadian beef.

This comes in the wake of the newly imposed ban by the USA and Canada, in regard to beef from Europe.

The legitimacy of the EU ban, has now been formally recognized by the World Trade Organization WTO, following some minor modifications.

The WTO has also recognized the right of the United States and Canada, to impose trade sanctions against the European Union.
