Farm Dispersal Sale – Windovers Farms Limited

Auctioneers BCM Bays Curry McCowen report that there was strong trade in the machinery and equipment offered for sale at the Windovers Farms Limited dispersal sale on Wednesday 21 February 2007.

The auction came about as a result of the sale of Somborne Park Farms. With in excess of 600 lots on offer the Auctioneers ensured that they kept matters moving along swiftly although loading of successful purchases continued well into the evening! With buyers coming from the United Kingdom and Denmark as well as locally, the sale was very well attended.

With workshop tools and equipment, building materials, vintage items, spare parts, fencing, tyres, consumables, general farm machinery, livestock, grassland and arable equipment along with a plethora of trailers, tractors, sprayers, vehicles and a combine harvester it meant that there really was something for everyone.

2003 Claas Lexion 470 combine at £70,000; 2001 Bateman RB25 Self Propelled sprayer at £49,500; John Deere 7920 tractor '06 at £49,800; John Deere 6910S tractor '01 at £21,300; John Deere 7810 tractor at £20,500; John Deere 6400 tractor at £11,100; 2005 Mitsubishi L200 at £8,100; Manitou MLT 629 '02 at £17,500; JCB JS130 tracked digger at £10,100; David Brown 880 tractor at £440; Massey Ferguson 165 tractor at £540; Marston 14 tonne grain trailer at £6,000; Agrihire cattle trailer at £5,700; AW dumper trailer at £4,500; Vaderstad Rapid 400 F drill '02 at £10,600; Kockerling cultivator '03 at £10,200; Kverneland 7 furrow reversible plough at £4,600; Welgar AP730 baler '99 at £6,600; Keenan Klassik II feeder at £4,800; Tomahawk 404 round bale chopper at £1,675.

Alastair Wilson from BCM, the Auctioneers, commented: "With increased confidence within the agricultural sector many genuine farmers were keen to purchase good quality farm machinery and equipment at the sale. The market certainly showed that buyers are willing to bid on all kinds of farm machinery. With many farmers now having received some or all of their Single Farm Payment, the sale came just at the right time. We expect another busy year for auction sales in 2007 as farmers continue to rationalise their businesses."
