Farmers argue case for grazing of high country

Mackenzie pastoral-lease farmers discussed the case for grazing as part of sustainable high country land management yesterday.

High Country Accord members met representatives from Forest and Bird, outdoor interest groups, landscape consultants, and regional and district councils to share viewpoints.

The fieldtrip went from Balmoral Station to the long-term vegetation trial, then Mt John and Glenmore Station to discuss land management, conservation, access and tenure review issues.
