Farmers in Yobe take to beans farming

Attracted by its favourable price and ready market, farmers in Yobe have now gone into massive cultivation of beans, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

Some of the farmers who spoke on the issue in Damaturu in an interview with NAN, said they decided to cultivate beans due to its attractive price.

``A bag of beans can buy you two to three bags of millet", Mallam Sabo Aliyu, one of the farmers said, adding that a bag of beans cost between N9,000 and N13,000.
