Farmers need to get the low-down on CAP reform
Farmers in Ceredigion are being urged to attend a meeting that will give them a deeper insight into the way European policies are likely to impact on their work and livelihoods.
The next meeting of Ceredigion NFU Cymru County branch will tackle major issues such as the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) reform.
Guest speaker will be Maeve Whyte, Director of the NFU Office in Brussels who, in addition to giving the latest information on CAP, will provide members with an insight on how the British Agriculture Bureau (BAB) Office engages with the European Parliament and European Commission to influence policy makers.
The meeting will include updates on other critical issues such as bovine TB, Glastir and sheep electronic identification. There will also be briefings to members on recent NFU Cymru commodity board meetings.
Ceredigion NFU Cymru Deputy Chairman John Davies said, "It is important for as many as possible of our members in Ceredigion to attend this meeting because of the massive influence that European legislation has on local farming."
The meeting is scheduled to start at 8pm on Tuesday 13 September at Aberaeron Rugby Club.
