Farmers sing out

A GROUP of singing farmers are tuning up for a one-off show in Holmfirth.

The Singing Farmers will put on a show-stopping performance in aid of a charity they have raised £70,000 for so far.

The Singing Farmers are individual singers who all have strong links with agriculture.

Ken Jackson is a cattle showman, Lloyd Lockwood, who has family in Holmfirth, is a cattle farmer while Tony Richards and Charles Marwood are both sheep farmers.

Phillip Holden runs a farm shop while Chris Berry edits farming magazines.

They formed to support the work of farmers who experience financial difficulties.

Singing Farmer Chris Berry said: "We have had requests from all over the UK to take the concerts further afield, but we haven't been to this part of the country and we felt it was about time.
