Farming roadshow is on the move

The NFU's food and farming roadshow rolls into East Anglia this week offering competitions, quizzes and the chance to milk a cow.

Farmer Johnny Ball and local farmers are bringing the roadshow to supermarkets, agricultural shows, and town centres as part of a nationwide summer tour. The aim is to promote British food and farming and the little red tractor food logo.

Roadshow visitors can try milking Annabelle, a full-size model cow, pick up a free recipe booklet, see day-old chicks, and visit the NFU's children's website, www.friendlyfarmclub.com

Johnny Ball said: "British farmers and growers produce some of the finest food in the world. The roadshow is the perfect platform to promote the good work that our farmers do in both food production and caring for the countryside."

Tesco sponsors the roadshow, which starts its tour at Herts Show this weekend. It then moves on to Suffolk Show and Lowestoft town centre, before visiting Tesco stores in Bishop's Stortford, Braintree, Basildon, Stowmarket and Ely. It is also appearing at Cambridgeshire Show and Norfolk Show.
