NEW FARM CHIEF SOUGHT.

The Irish Farmers Association has been interviewing over the Xmas holiday for a new general secretary, as Michael Berkley who has held the position for the last 25 years is leaving.

The announcement is expected to be announced in late January and there are rumored to be nine people short listed. The new secretary is going to be walking into a mountain of problems and work, in the wake of the recent meat recalls and emergency slaughter of 100,000 pigs and 4,000 cattle.
