John Kelley will be managing director of AIC Services. This subsidiary of AIC has been set up principally to manage the quality assurance schemes. Kelley was formerly a senior technologist with Marks and Spencer and has extensive supply chain management experience. He will join AIC in September.
Deirdre Webb became sector manager for crop protection distribution on August 1. She moves from UKASTA, a founding member of AIC, where she was policy manager.
They join David Heather, deputy chief executive and head of the Fertiliser Manufacturing sector, Paul Rooke, head of Policy, Judith Nelson, head of the Feed sector and Jane Salter, who is currently deputy director general of the FMA, to complete the senior management team.
Commenting on these appointments AIC chairman Richard Banks said: "We've now got an excellent team to deliver a strong message to government and the public - and also to fully participate in shaping the future of the food chain."
