Kubota TRV900 utility vehicle to takle the Scottish coastline for charity

Kubota UK Limited has generously donated one of its RTV900 all terrain utility vehicles for a forthcoming charity event in Scotland.

On July 22nd, Ian Henderson, 53, will be embarking on an ambitious charity expedition which will see him cover the 3,500 mile coastline of Scotland using a Kubota RTV900. Ian is raising money for The Royal Scottish Agricultural Benevolent Institute (RSABI). "A serious accident in 1986 left me unable to continue my farming job, and unfortunately I was unaware of the fantastic support the RSABI offers to rural people such as farmers and estate workers who are experiencing financial difficulty through no fault of their own" explained Ian. In addition to raising much needed funds Ian also hopes he will increase awareness of the RSABI so other people do not miss out like he did.

The RTV900 is powered by a Kubota 22hp water-cooled diesel engine, and has a unique three range Variable Hydrostatic Transmission (VHT) that automatically boosts climbing power when tackling steep slopes. Combined with a ground clearance of 8.3", long wheelbase and wide tread tyres, the RTV takes even the most challenging off-road terrain in its stride. These features combined with a top speed of 25mph will ensure that Ian can tackle every obstacle the breathtaking but treachous Scottish coastline will throw at him.

"When Ian came to us with the idea we were only to happy to help out, it is always nice to put something back into the industry in which we work and everyone here at Kubota wishes Ian the best of luck," commented Tom Dunlop, Kubota's Scottish Sales Manager, tractor and groundcare division.

After setting off from the BIGGAR Agricultural show, Ian will travel to the east, north and west coasts before arriving at Gretna on August 22nd. He is hoping to visit several other agricultural events along the way.
