Life long member honoured

NFU Ruthin Branch recently awarded Gruffydd Owain Richards with a Long Serving Member Award for his 30 year service to the Branch work and to agriculture.
Gruff has retired from the Denbighshire Council farm Ty Coch, Llangynhafal, Denbigh. He was a tenant at the farm for over 30 years.
During his years as an NFU Cymru member, Mr Richards has served on numerous committees including Ruthin Branch Chairman, Clwyd County Chairman, and Clwyd's Council Delegate representing the county in London. Mr Richards has also been heavily involved in the work of the Wool Marketing Board, representing Clwyd farmers.
Gruff is married to Ann, and they have two sons Hywel and Bryn.
On receiving the honour, Mr Richards, who now lives in Ruthin, said: "I am absolutely delighted that Ruthin Branch has presented me with this honour. I have thoroughly enjoyed all the work I have done within the agriculture industry and hope to continue assisting younger members to ensure a prosperous future for the next generation."
During the Branch meeting the Chairman Dylan Hughes of Plas yn Llan, Efenechtyd, Ruthin, presented a cheque to Hope House in Wales' representative Ann Richards for £250.
Ann Richards, Chairperson for Ruthin and Denbigh Hope House Friends said: "We cannot thank the local community enough for their hard work and fundraising activities. It is a pleasure to receive this cheque from the Vale of Clwyd farmers, the money will assist in running the new Hope House centre in Conwy."
