A man was air flown to hospital after trapping his hand in farm machinery.

The man, from Anglesey, received serious injuries. Emergency services were called to Ty Croes, near Rhosneigr at 1.15pm on 7 August.

A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: "We were called at shortly before 1.20pm this afternoon (7 August 2017) to reports of an industrial accident at an address near Aberffraw.

"We sent the Wales Air Ambulance and a crew in an emergency ambulance and a man was airlifted to Ysbyty Gwynedd with serious injuries."

The incident comes only days after the end of Farm Safety Week (July 24-28).

The Farm Safety Partnership said many farmers never stop to consider why animals behave as they do and, more importantly, what this behaviour could mean to their personal safety.

Health and Safety Executive (HSE) figures from the 2016/17 period showed agriculture is the most dangerous UK profession, with 27 work-related.

Last year, 30 people were killed in agriculture, compared with 29 the year before.
