Merial’s Customer Focus is Recognised in National Sales Awards

The fact that Merial Animal Health’s sales team go the extra mile to meet their customers needs has once again been recognised. Following the company’s success in 2009 - when its Territory Managers took the top three places in the competition - John Schofield has won Sales Professional of the Year in the British Excellence in Sales and Marketing Awards (BESMA), organised by the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management.

John works for the company’s Large Animal Business in the North West of England. He said: "I am absolutely delighted to have won the award. The selection process was extensive and included two role plays and an interview. While one of the role plays involved selling a Merial product, the other was for a product nominated by the organisers. The judges also took into account the successful year I have had for Merial."

Merial’s National Sales Manager for the Large Animal Business is Andrew Buglass. He says: "We are very proud of John’s achievement. His questioning and listening skills and his professional approach undoubtedly played a major part in securing this impressive title.

"The fact that Merial Animal Health has been so successful in this competition in recent years is testimony to the investment that we make in training. Our overall objective is to produce a team that best meets the needs of our customers; vets, distributors and the industry in general."

The prestigious awards are highly competitive, and this year’s shortlist of finalists in the category for companies with more than 50 employees included staff from Royal Mail, EDF Energy, Lyreco, and Virgin Media Business.
