New RECO machinery at LAMMA 2007

The LAMMA Show is the first opportunity for UK arable farmers to take a look at three of Rustons Engineering's latest introductions – a range of minimum-tillage drills and a special edition fertiliser spreader from Sulky and an improved version of Maschio's Rapido Plus power harrows.

The new Maxidrill TR models join the RW and SR ranges previously sold under the Roger name to form a large family of Sulky min-drill drills. The TR models will be available in three, four and six metre widths, all designed specifically for min-till working but also suitable for use on ploughed land. A new type of central metering unit allows small seeds such as rape to be drilled at very low rates, as well as successfully achieving rates of 350 kg/ha at 15 km/h. An electro-hydraulic control box with real-time data display is available as an option.

The Sulky DPX70 spreader has been introduced to mark the company's 70th anniversary. It has a spread width up to 24 metres and a hopper capacity of 1500 litres, expandable to 2100 litres, at a recommended retail price of only £3695. The above-average specification for this price includes stepless width adjustment from 12 to 24 metres and a heavy-duty frame designed for payloads up to 2.1 tonnes. Sulky's Tribord in-cab electric control system for headland spreading can be fitted.

The new Maschio Rapido Plus harrows have the same proven gear system, one-piece shaft and heavy-duty bearings as before. New features include a twin-beam packer roller with a stronger frame and better scraper design, and the clod board has also been improved. Three and four metre models are available.
