New staffing structure will save money
A NEW staffing structure will save Hybu Cig Cymru, the newly-established Welsh red meat development body, up to £150,000 a year in salary and administration costs.
The savings, largely from the efficiencies of bringing together partner organisations, will go directly towards boosting HCC's planned marketing and promotional work for Welsh red meat products.
It is looking to recruit 14 core and five projectbased staff, mostly from two of the partner organisations that are signed up to the new body - MLC and Welsh Lamb and Beef Promotions.
The structure plan identifies four new section heads for marketing, industry development, corporate strategy and finance and administration, who will report directly to HCC chief executive, Gwyn Howells. "We promised the farming industry that HCC meant removing duplication and increasing resources and that is exactly what we are doing," Mr. Howells said this week.
"Our newly-approved strategic and business plans will introduce a staffing structure that will ensure all areas of the industry in Wales are fully serviced, while cutting out duplication of activities.
