NFU News: Porridge world record attempt
What: Attempt to set a world record for cooking the largest bowl of porridge
Where: NFU headquarters, Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire
When: Tuesday January 16 2007, 8am
To promote the 2007 Farmhouse Breakfast Week the NFU and Home-Grown Cereals Authority, with help from the Territorial Army, will attempt to set a Guinness world record for cooking the largest bowl of porridge.
Farmhouse Breakfast Week runs from Sunday January 21 to Saturday January 27 and the world record attempt is designed to highlight the importance of a healthy breakfast, particularly porridge. It will also link in with the NFU's Why Farming Matters campaign and the issue of food miles.
The programme for the day is:
· 6am: Cooking commences
· 8am: Press arrive
· 8.15am: Serving of porridge to class of local schoolchildren and members of the NFU Council (Filming, photograph and interview opportunities)
· 9am: Event finishes
