Britain’s leading egg company, Noble Foods is celebrating winning the Marketing Breakthrough Award at last week’s British Free Range Egg Producers’ Association Awards. The award, which celebrates pioneering initiatives in the industry, was for Noble Food’s recent charity egg brand launches – Eggs For Soldiers and One Good Egg.

Eggs For Soldiers which launched in April 2011, donates 15p from every pack sold to Help for Heroes whose great work helps to improve the lives of injured soldiers. So far a total donation of £184k has been raised for the charity with a target donation of £250k by the end of its first year.

One Good Egg is part of the growing range of products from ethical brand, One. Profit from the sale of every pack of eggs goes towards funding community egg farming projects in some of the poorest parts of sub-Saharan Africa, helping families build better lives. To date, 700 lives have been transformed, with farmers typically doubling their household incomes, enabling them to invest in other livestock and income generation, improve their families’ nutrition and ensure their children get the education they deserve.

Receiving the BFREPA award, Noble Foods Marketing Director, Steve Horton commented:

"We are thrilled to receive this kind of industry recognition for our work in launching both Eggs For Soldiers and One Good Egg. Sales figures reflect how close these two good causes are to the hearts of our consumers. The simplicity of donating to a good cause whilst buying an everyday essential has proven itself to be a very successful concept with great financial benefits for our charity partners."
