Northern Ireland-Cattle cull.
NORTHERN IRELAND.
CATTLE CULL TO GO AHEAD.
Agricultural Minister Michelle Gildernew, has said that the cattle restricted on 10 farms in Northern Ireland because of Dioxins must be culled and slaughtered so as not to enter the food chain.
The 7,000 cattle in question have been making headlines across the world and the minister said the cull is essential to save the reputation of Ulster beef.
The minister went on to say that she would pursue the government of the Republic of Ireland in regard to compensation for the farmers concerned.
The government of Northern Ireland have agreed to meet the cost of slaughter and rendering.
