Norvento puts 18 projects in pipeline
Medium-scale wind turbine manufacturer, Norvento, has recently confirmed the submission of twelve new sites for planning permission, with six more projects to be submitted before the end of the third quarter. This number of planning submissions constitutes the most considerable push to date for its UK nED100 100KW portfolio.
UK FiT scale onshore wind faces a number of challenges, and with a potential review into the support mechanism taking place this year, the leading technology of Norvento’s low-noise, compact, direct-drive turbines puts them in a favourable position for rapid planning approval and permission.
Furthermore, while large-scale onshore wind in the UK has seen its Renewable Obligation (RO) subsidy support cut ahead of schedule, Spanish manufacturer Norvento continues to demonstrate its support for the UK FiT market through an ambitious project pipeline.
With sites that encompass a variety of locations ranging from farms to factories seaports and commercial buildings, Norvento’s latest projects will produce a total of 1.9MW, a strong achievement in light of challenging market conditions.
In keeping with its progressive outlook, the company has appointed a new project manager, Rob Styles, based in Birmingham, bringing the UK Norvento team to 8, and expanding its geographical reach in addition to the offices in London and Bristol.

Giving local businesses and farmers the opportunity to view its unique products in person, Norvento will be showcasing its Cousland site on 23rd of September this year. This open day is designed to demonstrate first hand the effectiveness, both in financial and environmental terms, of Norvento’s turbines and to allow consumers in south east Scotland to learn more about this increasingly successful provider.
With a track record of more than a thirty-years, the Spanish renewable energy company first came to the UK in 2013. Having erected its first UK turbine in January 2014, by September Norvento will have 11 turbines on British soil with 4 more to come in the next quarter. In November 2014 the nED100 set a new daily generation record and this model has continued to prove itself an effective solution to both the financial and environmental challenges of the UK energy industry.
