PAKISTAN FOOD PRICES.-

The prices of different varieties of meat have again been increased in the metropolis. The government fails to bring down these prices, The Nation learnt through a brief market survey on Saturday.

The price of boneless chicken meat has risen up steeply. It is now being sold at Rs230 to Rs250 per kg. The price of boneless beef in the local market is Rs250 per kg and Rs180 with bone.

Similarly, the price of mutton is also high and stood at Rs280 to Rs300 per kg in the metropolitan. It is noteworthy that there is fluctuation in the meat prices in different localities of the City. In posh areas, these prices are higher than other localities of the City.

"This variation is perhaps because we will pay them their demanded amount. This shows lack of good governess in the City and the whole country as a whole. There are price control departments in the City but it seems as if they need a good training regarding their duties," said a person at the meat shop sarcastically.

"The prices of meat have hiked up in the local market because of the fact that meat is being smuggled from the country. The government should keep a strict check on this issue.
