FOOT AND MOUTH.

The Department of Agriculture in the Philippines, has made an application to the World Animal Health authorities, to have the state of Luzon, certified free of foot-and-mouth-disease and this will then have the country declared free.

The World organization for Animal Health, will make the decision if to award the nation a clean bill of health.

As an added precaution the government of the Philippines, have introduced extraordinary measures on farms and in slaughterhouses, for regular testing and sanitary precautions to prevent any further outbreaks, along with the infrastructure to cope with any future outbreaks should they occur.
