The family owned company showed a net income of P51.61 million compared to P29.89 million in 2007.
Revenue for 2008 was P3.12 billion, up by 25 per cent on the previous year.
The Valenzuela-based company owned by the Ong family manufactures processed brands including CDO Karne Norte, CDO Bibbo! Hotdog, CDO Meat Loaf, CDO Hamburger Patties and CDO Holiday Ham.
Meanwhile, Business World reports that another meat processing company, RFM Corp’s income grew by 6.8 per cent for the nine months of 2008, reaching P158.9 million. The firm said the increase was down to strong sales of flour, beverage, and meat products.
San Miguel Pure Foods Co.’s consolidated revenues for the same period hit P51.26 billion, up from 2007’s P43.57 billion.
The three firms are members of the 29-member group Philippine Meat Processors Association, Inc., whose production accounts for 85 per cent of the local meat processing industry.
