PHILIPPINES LIFTS BAN ON MEAT AND BONEMEAL.

Meat and bone meal along with tallow will now be again allowed back into the Philippines from Australia, since the ban imposed by the government in keeping with BSE ,mad cow disease safeguards.

Agricultural Secretary, Arthur Yap, issued a directive after the Animal Health Organization adopted a resolution, declaring Australia free of BSE: The by products industries globally have been severely effected by restrictions since the UK outbreak of BSE in 1996.

The products allowed to be imported have to be verified by the Australian Quarantine and Inspection service, under the rules that govern the rendering business.
