Poultry technical meetings in South East of England
Free range egg producers in the South East of England are being offered the chance to attend a series of funded meetings in 2009, as part of an initiative to improve the health and welfare of a range of different livestock species. ’Livestock Health South East’ is funded by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) through the Rural Development Programme for England and is intended to improve animal health and welfare, and thereby contribute to the sustainability of farming in the region.
The geographical area covered by the initiative extends from Buckinghamshire and Oxford in the north, to Hampshire and across to Kent and the first meetings for free range egg producers are now being arranged. It is intended that these will be evening meetings and that they will be held at a number of different venues around the region.
ADAS is responsible for the organisation and planning of these meetings. If you would like to be kept informed of the dates, venues and subjects featured, please send an email to lynne.holmes@adas.co.uk or telephone 01522 751374. Further information on other events being organised as part of the Livestock Health South East project can be found on the website www.livestockhealthsoutheast.org.uk, or by calling 07549 843380.
