Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall undertake annual visit to Wales

Visits to support the Welsh tourism industry and small businesses as well as rural enterprise and sustainability are at the heart of Their Royal Highnesses’ seventh annual summer visit to Wales.

Staying at Llwynywermod, their Carmarthenshire home in Myddfai near Llandovery, Their Royal Highnesses will undertake visits across four counties as well as hosting receptions at their Welsh home for members of the local community and a number of their charities. The appointment of The Prince’s new harpist will also be announced during this week. The harpist will make her debut performance as Official Harpist to The Prince of Wales a reception hosted by The Prince and The Duchess at Llwynywermod during the week.

Highlights of the week will include a visit the popular seaside town of Aberdyfi in Gwynedd where The Prince will tour the town, visiting local businesses and community projects. Their Royal Highnesses will also tour the Bacheldre Watermill at Montgomery, Powys, which has supplied bread and flour to The Prince at Highgrove and Llwynywermod. The Prince will visit the Fferm y Garreg Farm in Cydweli, Dyfed, where he will meet local dairy farmers and experts from the Welsh dairy industry.

The Duchess of Cornwall will be opening Phase One of the Cardiff Story Museum – a multi-media exhibition of artefacts and stories bringing alive Cardiff’s rich historical past. Her Royal Highness will also host a tea party at Llwynywermod for children from Latch, the Welsh children’s cancer charity.

Their Royal Highnesses will also open the new Myddfai Town Hall and refurbished Llandovery Train Station during the week.
