Record year for AtlasFram Group's Machinery Scheme

A unique Fleet Purchasing Arrangement between AtlasFram Group, the UK’s largest farm inputs purchasing and crop marketing business, and CaseIH, one of the world’s leading farm equipment manufacturers, resulted in the farmers’ cooperative purchasing a record amount of CaseIH machinery on behalf of its Members during 2010.

During a year in which 11% fewer tractors were sold in the UK than in the previous 12-month period the AtlasFram Group’s Machinery Scheme enjoyed a record year, with members purchasing over 18% more CASE IH tractors than the previous year.

Jon Fovargue, Machinery Manager for AtlasFram, commented: "AtlasFram is now the only farm inputs purchasing cooperative which is able to offer the special terms which we have negotiated with CASE IH, enabling our Members to enjoy savings that they would not otherwise be able to obtain and which can amount to thousands of £’s on a single purchase. We are very pro-active in promoting the scheme to our Members and through the very good relationships which we enjoy with CASE IH and its dealers have been able to generate new business which would otherwise have been placed with other machinery manufacturers. During 2010, a significant number of the tractors bought by Members replaced those from other manufacturers, providing a valuable source of new business for CASE IH as a manufacturer looking to grown in the UK.

"The AtlasFram Group is able to save its Members money on any item of equipment that is needed to operate a modern farm. We purchase more than £16 million of machinery annually on behalf of Members, so if it’s on the farm and machinery- related there’s a very good chance that we have a supplier who will be able to meet our their requirements. Placing the order through AtlasFram is a very simple way for Members to obtain significant financial savings on anything from a packet of nuts and bolts to the largest tractor or combine harvester."

Andrew Whiley, Major Accounts Manager for CASE IH, added: "Once again the CASE IH / AtlasFram Group Fleet Agreement really proved its worth by significantly increasing our volume of business with AtlasFram Members during 2010, in a market that has decreased year on year. The scheme is now in its 10th year and continues to grow, attracting to the CASE IH brand many new customers who are able to achieve significant savings on the cost of their purchases. During the last few years CASE IH products have improved dramatically and are now the envy of the industry, which is underlined by the fact that many of the trade-in units currently standing in our dealers’ premises are from other manufacturers."
