NEW PORK ABATTOIR.

A farming company in Stavropol in south west Russia, is building a new pork processing plant to slaughter 130 pigs per hour, 6,000 pigs per week.

The company have 72,000 of their own pigs on farms in the area, they plan to source supplies from other producers.

The target is to produce 25,000 tons of pork per year.

The Russian government is encouraging farm groups, to become self sufficient in meat production.
