The Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG) today (5 September 2006)

announced the winning farms for each of England, Scotland, Wales and

Northern Ireland for this year's Farmcare FWAG Silver Lapwing Awards.

The Silver Lapwing Award is the UK's most prestigious farm conservation

now compete for the overall Silver Lapwing Trophy, to be presented at an

awards ceremony in October.

The winners are:

England: Chris and Liz Hodgson, Piercebridge Farm, near Darlington, County Durham

Scotland: Marcus and Kate Maxwell, Holme Farm, Balmaclellan, near New Galloway, Dumfries & Galloway

Wales: Terry and Mary Clarke, Knapps Farm, Narberth, Pembrokeshire
