Spain-Fishing the South Atlantic.

ARGENTINA AND SOUTH ATLANTIC.

Fishing by proxy.

Spain like many countries in the EU, is extremely short of good fishing grounds, therefore pays huge sums of money to other countries, for fishing rights.

Argentina, Chile, the Falklands/Malvinas and New Zealand as well as several African counties, benefit from this system with Spain..

The problem is when the fish catch is brought into port, it is loaded into containers for further processing in Europe, which takes away vital employment from the countries selling the fishing rights.

While Spain has no objection to paying millions for the fishing, she has no interest in development of fish processing, in the countries who sell the rights.

The governments of Argentina and Chile, are requesting on future sales of fishing grounds, that the fish be processed in the country of origin.

The fishing companies and the governments, have to work out a feasible partnership that will maintain a fish processing industry in the country of origin.
