Specialist role strengthens Humphrey Feeds and Pullets link

Humphrey Feeds and sister company Humphrey Pullets are reaffirming the customer benefits of their ‘partnership approach’ by the appointment of poultry specialist George Humphrey.

George will provide free range and organic producers in the south with advice and support spanning both feeding and rearing business. He will be working alongside Humphrey Feeds team of on-farm poultry feed specialists Colin Gravatt, Anna Cutler and Steve Clout.

Martin Humphrey, Sales Director, Humphrey Feeds & Pullets, comments, “I am delighted to announce that George has rejoined the poultry industry and the family business – he will be a great asset.

“George will be working with feed and pullet customers in the same way as his predecessor, Anthony Harman. As a poultry farmer with many years’ experience on farm and at the feed mill, he has a tremendous amount of knowledge covering the entire stock management process which will be of great value to our customers.

“George will be working with our customers, offering knowledge, advice and help to ensure optimal farm performance.”

Humphrey Pullets have seven rearing farms which deliver over one million pullets per year to customers, whilst Humphrey Feeds specializes in the manufacture and supply of all types of breeder, rearer and layer feeds from its dedicated poultry feed mill – together with the support of its experienced on farm teams.

George, who for 12 years managed the company’s laying and rearing farms, is looking forward to putting his experience to good use. “I was responsible for both free range and barn production systems as well as working on the feed side, which has given me a unique perspective.

“I look forward to meeting and working with our customers and helping them to develop their businesses further.

Whilst there have been many changes in the industry in the last seven years,” concludes George, “from a big increase in the breeds available to the performance of the breeds, all the basic principles of feeding, vaccination and bird health remain unchanged. My aim will be to work alongside colleagues and customers to expand our offer and provide quality products, advice and services at all times.”
