Tackling BVD and Johne's disease

Farmers in North Wales are set to benefit from hands on practical advice on how to deal with BVD and Johne’s disease within the dairy herd.

The specialist dairy health event will see industry experts Peter Orpin and Dick Sibley covering a number of issues including the principles of infectious disease control, identification and diagnosis, testing and analysis as well as the potential economic losses where BVD and Johne’s disease are concerned.

The event which will take place on Anglesey Showground, Gwalchmai, Hollyhead on February 9, 2011 at 11am, will also include a variety of dairy health trade stands with something for everyone.

Another event will be held at Usk College on March 3. The event which is titled ’Tackling Nutrition’, will see guest speakers, James Husband and Bryn Davies share their knowledge on how best to feed the dairy cow at critical periods in order to avoid nutritionally related ailments.
